Creating Your Own Agency Skills Database

The Agency Skills Database is unique to your firm. It allows the users in your company to select from a standardized skills database when coding People, Companies, and Jobs during data entry. There are two major benefits to using a standardized skills database. First, the users do not have to wade through miscellaneous skills, which will save them time during data entry. Second, it will allow them to perform faster and more accurate searches.

To add a Skill to your Agency’s Skills Database:

Note: this is only an option for the Main Contact/Supervisor(s)

  • Click the Settings link at the top right-hand corner of the screen

  • Click the link titled Agency’s Skills Database under the Big Biller Agency Settings header

  • Type the name of the skill into the Skill field (make sure it is spelled correctly)
  • If the skill has an alias (another name or term that the skill is known as, such as Registered Nurse or RN, Visual Basic or VB), type this into the Alias field that is associated with the skill
  • Click the Add button to add that skill to your Agency Skills Database

  • Click the Back button in the bottom right-hand corner of the page or close this window when you’re finished adding skills
